Failure is an event, NOT a person!
There is a saying: when you know better you do better. That is so true. So many times your circumstance and the people you are around will form your thoughts, your feelings and your life. It is easy to look backward and say i should have done that or i could have done this differently. Hindsight is 20/20, but hindsight can't change what has happened. We can't condemn yourself for not knowing the lesson before you learned it right? Sadly, there are people all over this planet living in condemnation, in depression and with the feeling of hopelessness from this they did or for how things turned out in their lives. I think that it's important to mention when you were dealing with an unhealthy relationship even when you did the best you could it may still have not been good enough for them, but that is their problem
It is essential that at the end of the day or at the end of the situation we tell ourselves: “we did the best we could, we did all that we knew how to do, it may not be perfect but I love myself anyway.” It should be pointed out, that unfortunately sometimes in the end no matter how hard you try it ends up being a big mess. Why? Because everything happened exactly as it did to get you where you’re going next.
Please don’t be sad, you tried and really that is all we can ever do in this life. While at this moment you may feel sad, disappointed, hurt and robbed I promise you that in 20 years you will be more disappointed if you let this moment, this situation or this circumstance you weren't supposed to change define the rest of your life. Your only job now is to forgive who ever hurt you. Be it your parents, your ex, or whomever it was in order for you to release yourself from the prison on your past pain.
You may not understand it today or tomorrow why this has happened to you but eventually God will reveal why you went through everything you did.
You did the best you could at the time
You are not a failure: Failure is an event, not a person. Don't label yourself as a failure, you are human and we all make mistakes.
